from the obscurity file

so, i was searching on google for a song from the mid-90's by fury in the slaughterhouse. there were two site hits when i searched for a particular song title. one of them was for a backwards masking site...

here is an interesting mp3 that is supposedly the fury in the slaughter house track every generation's got its own disease played backwards... what does it say?

Oh my God, Jesus walks out to his Chevrolet factory in the field.

i thought, "wow, interesting, what else is there..."

the nin mask on closer is funny given the forward lyrics...

rick springfield's mask in jessie's girl even gets a little preachy...

And God knows what I think. That Jesus Christ..., that Jesus is the one!

for more interesting backwards masking see ...

one more crazy thing invented in my world this week:

tray sliding down tube slides at burger king...

this project mayhem activity is brought to you by my five year old.

gonetoafrica started a blog last month and has thus far fulfilled his own prophecy...

so, ayesh found a new pet tonight. a fuzzy white caterpillar that she promptly named liquor. i think she meant licker, but when one hears ayesh talk about her liquor immediately comes to mind not licker. this small fuzzy creature was the light of her life for a handful of hours until liquor's sad demise in the back seat of the pathfinder east bound on i-30. so again we say goodbye to a dear friend. liquor is likely swapping pet stories with stee puzzi and puzzi two someplace on the other side.

i just read over an email exchange from the last couple days in which i wrote:

of late i am
> the oldest and most
> culturally fragmented person in my circles...

it is interesting how one's words become revelatory to one's self at different points... the words that hit me in rereading this exchange were "culturally fragmented." it led me to ask, "what would someone who would not use this phrase to describe themselves look like?"

it seems there is no side stepping fragmentation in our time--perhaps in any time. there is no homogenous pristine cultural hole to stick our heads in to remain unspotted from otherness. fragmentation is a word that, while perhaps presuming some conception of wholeness, is no more or less positive or negative than wholeness. each fragmentation is itself a wholeness emerging from a prior wholeness. in this way wholeness and fragmentation are one and we are bound to them in an inescapable relationship
of rebirth
of change,
of otherness invading our wholeness.

i have learned to be satisfied with the things i have...
i know how to live when i am poor, and
i know how to live when i have plenty.

it's good to see the uk advocating an open position on working with democratically elected leaders... i still am not fully able to articulate my concern over the mixed signals dubya is sending with his open call for the removal of a leader elected by the people of palestine. seek to ensure fair elections, yes. support a strong response to acts of terror, yes. but delegitimize an elected government??

They say, here's the truth, and I say, is that all there is? And they say, kind of. Pretty much. As far as we know. goliath: a short story in the world of The Matrix. I never wanted to hurt her, so I stopped telling her my ideas.

still awaiting the Animatrix releases...

She calls me from the cold
Just when I was low, feeling short of stable
And all that she intends
And all she keeps inside, isn't on the label

She says she's ashamed
And can she take me for a while
And can I be a friend, we'll forget the past
But maybe I'm not able
And I break at the bend

::

She says that love is for fools that fall behind
And I'm somwhere in between
I never really know
A killer from a savior
'Til I break at the bend

We're here and now, but will we ever be again
'Cause I have found
All that shimmers in this world is sure to fade
Away again

It's too far away for me to hold
It's too far away...

Guess I'll let it go
